ST JOHN CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY FIRST AID EDUCATION & COMPLIAN

SOLUTIONS 11 FREE Workplace First Aid Assessments When you choose our Workplace First Aid Assessments, our dedicated St John First Aid Advisors will do an on-site assessment of the risks for each site. We will establish the minimum requirements of first aiders and the qualifications needed, as well as the minimum number of first aid kits and additional modules and their locations. We will also review your first aid procedures, or assist in developing these to meet the requirements of all your work sites. Additionally, we can give you advice on recommended actions beyond minimum requirements, such as the installation of Automated External Defibrillators and more. Restocking Services We can come to your workplace and carry out the following services to ensure your first aid kits are stocked and up to date: • Examine your stock levels and integrity of contents • Check expiry dates and restock accordingly to meet WHS regulations • Include an inventory list and audit date (as required by Safe Work Australia’s First Aid in the Workplace Code of Practice)

Emerging issues The construction industry holds the second-highest rate of work- related serious injury. According to Safe Work Australia, 182 Australian workers in 2020 were killed at work, 19 of which were in the construction industry. These statistics highlight the importance of maintaining first aid requirements in the workplace and the potential risks that may arise if correct first aid procedures and equipment are not in place.
