Cadets and Youth Development By sponsoring our Cadet and Youth Development Program you invest in tomorrow’s lifesavers. Cadets are seen at countless events across the state throughout the year, and the program is highly regarded by the public. As part of their learning, every cadet and junior fills in workbooks that facilitate learning retention and engagement, not only with the first aid topic but many other life skills. To earn certain badges, the youngsters participate in activities that require wearing an apron, for example in food preparation. Cadets also compete on local, state and national level on an annual basis. These events attract many visitors beyond the St John family, and sponsorship for these events is exclusive to Presenting Partners. Juniors are aged between 8 and 11 and cadets between 12 and 18.
