Feb 2020 John currently works in the not for profit sector as Chief Executive Officer for Lutheran Disability Services and also holds a number of non-executive directorships. Prior to that John spent four-and-a-half years as Chief Executive Officer for Operation Flinders Foundation Inc (2015-2019), a not-for-profit that provides an adventure based remote outback therapy program for youth at risk. Before Operation Flinders, John held a number of senior roles with other iconic South Australian companies. John was Chief Financial Officer for Coopers Brewery (2010- 2014), Chief Information Officer at the RAA of SA Inc. (2008-2010), Chief Information Officer for Adelaide Bank (2003-2007) and Executive General Manager eBusiness for Faulding (2000-2001). All up, John has over 35 years of Executive management, Finance, IT, eBusiness and security experience, gained in Australia, Holland, and Canada. John is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia New Zealand, Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and Honorary Fellow of the Flinders University - New Venture Institute. John provides mentoring to a number of start-ups and individuals. He is a non-executive director on a number of professional body, ASX listed and not-for-profit boards.

Resigned Nov 2019 Peter Jackson has extensive career experience in the law and legal service industry and is currently a Partner at the law firm, Duncan Basheer Hannon Lawyers. Previous to this, he was the Managing Solicitor at Nick Xenophon & Co Lawyers, practising predominantly in civil litigation and specialising in personal injury and commercial litigation. Peter was admitted as a barrister and solicitor of both the Supreme Court of South Australia and the High Court of Australia in 2001. He is a member of Law Society of SA, through which membership he holds the position of Chair of the Litigation Assistance Fund and is an active member of the Ethics and Practice Committee. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (with Honours), a Bachelor of Arts and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice.

Nov 2017 Ray is a dedicated volunteer with over 50 years of St John service, having fulfilled many senior roles and in particular that of State Superintendent, Commissioner and past Board Director. He is a past member of a number of State Government disaster preparedness committees including the State Response, Mitigation and Recovery Committees and Joint Emergency Services, Major Event Coordination Committee. Ray has been awarded an Order of Australia Medal, National Medal (Emergency Services), Centenary of Australia Medal and is a Knight of the Order of St John Ambulance Australia. Ray is a former career public servant with substantial experience in critical engineering infrastructure, emergency management and business continuity planning. He holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Business, a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and is a Graduate of ‘Australian Institute of Company Directors, Governance in the Not-for- Profit Sector, and Financial Performance for Not-for-Profits,’ Courses. His current professional memberships include: Member, Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD), Associate Fellow, Institution of Engineers Australia (AFIEAust), Member, Australian Institute of Emergency Services (MAIES) and Member, Royal Association of Justices of SA Inc. (JP).

Nov 2013 Karen Limb has had an extensive career in commerce, general management, governance and strategy across a broad number of industries and boards. Karen is currently General Manager, Corporate Services at West Beach Parks. Previously she was the Chief Financial Officer of Mott MacDonald for Australia and New Zealand and has held financial and general management positions in the professional services, manufacturing, retail and utilities sectors. A member of CPA Australia (Fellow) and the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Karen is also a board member of the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra (ASO) and past board member of Young Adelaide Voices. She holds a Bachelor of Business and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA).

Board structure

The Board is comprised of the following members:

Appointed Directors: Chair of Training, Chair of Community Care, Chair of Operations.

Co-opted Directors: Three Directors co-opted by the Board, one of whom shall be appointed Treasurer.

Elected Directors: Three members, not otherwise appointed, who shall be elected from the membership.

Ray is also a Special Justice of the Peace (SJP) presiding in the Magistrates Court jurisdiction.
