St John SA is seen as an expert in the field of administering first aid and first aid training and therefore often gets asked to advise on health-related issues across numerous media outlets.

Some highlights of our community engagement initiatives in the last year have included:

• Supporting the Sammy D Foundation by Donating a St John G5 defibrillator as an auction item at their Reach for the Stars Ball.

• Donating a St John G5 defibrillator to Wangolina Wines as the winner of our Be a Real Lifesaver Defibrillator giveaway.

• Taking part in Cancer Council’s Relay for Life to help raise funds for Cancer Council SA to continue their research to lead us to a cancer free future. The St John SA team was able to raise in excess of $650 for cancer research. In addition to these engagement activities that raise the profile of St John in the community, social media also plays an important role in communicating our brand in the digital space. Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram are our main platforms that provide regular updates about the people and happenings of St John SA. Social media is an excellent tool for engaging in real-time with our audience and reaching large numbers of people.
