First Aid Training SafeWork Australia’s First Aid in the Workplace Code of Practice stipulates the minimum requirements for first aid training for each industry. Our Provide First Aid course is the minimum qualification required to be recognised as a workplace first aider and is valid for three years. Some additional courses may be required, depending on your role and responsibilities. Anyone working in the electrical trade or who works with or in close proximity to an LV panel must also hold the Low Voltage Rescue (LVR) qualification and update it yearly. With 27 training venues across the state, St John makes it easy for you to stay first aid compliant. We can also come to you with our on-site group training so you don’t even have to leave your site.

Sudden cardiac arrest can affect people of all ages. Electrical contact can be a precursor to cardic arrest. The only definitive treatment is a defibrillator shock, which gives the heart a chance to restore a normal rhythm. For every minute that passes without CPR and defibrillation, chances of survival decrease by 10%. Therefore, having a defibrillator on-site makes a real difference in the crucial time until an ambulance arrives.
