St John Drive-a-thon

Over 61 days, St John volunteers and staff from around Australia undertook the inaugural St John Drive-a-thon. Starting in Darwin on 16 October 2024 and travelling more than 16,000km, 14 teams of four drivers took turns to drive around the country, providing communities with lifesaving CPR education and delivering $50,000 worth of AEDs to regional areas. With support from Bunnings Warehouse, we stopped at over 30 of their stores to teach lifesaving CPR skills, demonstrate how to use an AED and engage with members of the public about what St John does in their area. Additionally, Discovery Parks generously provided accommodation for our teams throughout the trip and hosted community BBQs in their parks to give park guests the opportunity to learn CPR. Throughout the journey, we captured footage with Channel 7 and produced a St John Drive-a thon documentary, which showcased just how far and wide we travelled in the name of saving lives.
